Primary Research

I've invited you to fill out a form: Brut Re branding Questionnaire

Who do you think the advert relates too?

Would you be tempted to buy Brut after seeing this advertisement? yes no

Do you like the Slow motion aspects of the advert? yes no

Do you think the music suits the advert/ target audience? yes no

Does the narrative compliment the idea of the Advertisement? yes no

Do you dislike anything about the advert, if so why?

How could the advert be changed?

This is primary research because these are the questions made by me the original source to get primary research from other people.

These results where gained by my own questions to gain answers for my own beneficial research to have constructive criticism for my own primary project which in this case was for esting.

Esting Questionnaire.
What genre do you think this fall under? And why?

Which target demographic does this fall under? (Include gender and age)

Did you understand the narrative? And what you thought of it?

What would you say about the aesthetics of the animation, in terms of mise en scene?

What do you think of the animation on a technical standpoint?

 Are there frame rate issues?

Elaborate on what do you think of the style?

Elaborate what you think of the characters?

What do you think went well? And why?

What didn’t go well? And why?

Like the first questionnaire, this is work coming from me therefore I am the primary source to this questionnaire, and the answers will be the primary constructive criticisms

Interviews are the primary form of gathering primary research, as you are gathering the knowledge towards what ever it is you are trying to get an understanding of from the person you are interviewing, the interviewee being the primary source. In my case I was getting information on the pros and cons of gaming and went ahead with two colliding interviews with opposing opinions to get out to the viewer information from both sides so the viewer can make an overall opinion for themselves.

Location Release: This is primary because I have picked a location fit for my own production. I filled in the forms myself, though got the form from some where else which is considered secondary research having to research where to gather these forms, which would apply to all the pre prodcution.

Location Recce: This is primary because again I picked and decided where and what time events should take place for my production. I have searched for areas myself, and didn't use secondary research for looking for locations on maps, because I already ad a place in mind.

Risk Assessment: when i was scouting locations it was my duty to search for any possible risks so that I and anyone with me at the time would not be hurt during the filming process, which all came from me there forte being primary research.

Secondary Research

The Advert Analysis is secondary because I had to have researched an advert to discuss. Also when doing this for an advert I cant really get a hold of anyone who works for Coca Cola for example to get information about an advert. It would be much more efficient to gather some information and facts to apply to the analysis.

The pitch for re branding a Unilever product was all secondary research, because I could look online for quantitative and qualitative research statistics to come up with demographic conclusions to justify why I want to make certain changes and why it is beneficial. I had to look for facts online where as it is either too difficult or unnecessary to to try and get some primary research as the benefits of secondary research outweigh the positives primary in this case for the reasons stated. Every thing is online regardless if you think its unreliable, you can simply look at other websites to see if the results are consistent or not, you cant deny how easy it is to gather numbered statistics and the justifications for those numbers.

For the Research and Planning e4 and the Brief I had to look for quantitative statistics online to be able to tell the target demographic for e4 to be able to explain why this is. I also had to research the estings.
